Creativity Skills Workshop

Announcing our 2nd Annual Creativity Skills Workshops! Participants will learn skills that will enhance their Destination Imagination experience. Our instructors include long-time Destination Imagination appraisers, challenge masters, and professional artists. Participants will choose two classes from 8 different two-hour workshops OR one 4-hour workshop on electricity. Remember, this is not an opportunity to get specific solutions to your challenge, but to learn skills that you can apply to any challenge. All classes are limited to 20 students unless noted.

Workshop Descriptions

How things move: Learn how to make objects move using simple machines, and small motors. Participants will move through stations learning cool ways to move objects.

Hand Tools (for Elementary students)(10 Students): Which tool should you use and how do you use them? Experiment with the safe use of hammers, hand drills, screwdrivers, and other hand tools.

Improv 101! (EL Only) Spontaneity, teamwork, and improvisational techniques will help your team shine!

Improv 201! (ML and SL Only) Learn advanced Improv techniques!
Duct Tape and other Sticky Situations (4th Grade and older) (16 Students): Learn how to use duct tape and other materials to create unique props. Kids will be using X-acto knives and scissors.

Costumes (for all ages): Learn how to make a pattern to form a costume out of any type of material.

Electricity (for middle and high school students)(12 Students): Understand electricity and how to use it to create unique solutions for your team. Cancelled

Stage Makeup (middle and high school students) (10 kids) Learn how to use stage make-up to create a unique character. Transfer these tips into your own DI solution.

• Each participant must bring a signed copy of the attached waiver.
• Teams that are attending together must bring 1 or 2 (no more please) responsible adults.
• Participants who are registering alone must bring one responsible adult.
